I am Maria Datseris and I am a psychologist. I graduated at the Università Pontificia Salesiana - Unisal in Rome. After that I worked several years in organisations and institutions as part of my professional training. In 2004 I moved to the Netherlands, which I call home now. I am mother-tong Italian, but thanks to my international background, I can fluently speak both English and Dutch. I am a people-oriented person, I believe in effective communication and the importance of it in any relationship. I am born in Italy, my mother is Italian and my father is Greek. I’ve grown up spending most of the year in Italy and the summer holidays in Crete, enjoying the blessings of the sun, the wind, a greek family love. From that heritage of mine I’ve got the idea of the labyrinth (lavýrinthos in Greek), from the myth of Theseus and his quest to defeat the Minotaur, who was living at the centre of a maze in Knossos, Crete. An important detail is that he could get out of there only thanks to Ariadne’s thread, which he unrolled while he went in and then followed back after having defeated the Minotaur. Sono Maria Datseris, psicologa, mi sono laureata presso l’Università Pontificia Salesiana a Roma. Dopo la laurea ho lavorato vari anni presso organizzazioni private e comunali, come parte del mio training professionale. Mi sono trasferita in Olanda nel 2004 e dopo tanti anni la considero ormai la mia casa. Oltre all’italiano parlo fluentemente olandese e inglese. Sono una persona socievole e interessata all’altro, credo nel potere di una comunicazione efficace e nella sua importanza in ogni relazione. Sono nata e cresciuta in Italia, mia madre è italiana e mio padre greco, per questo ogni anno trascorrevo con la mia famiglia l’estate a Creta, dove passavo le vacanze godendo del sole, del vento e del mare Mediterraneo e circondata dall’affetto della mia famiglia. Da questo mio retaggio viene l’idea del labirinto, ispirata al mito di Teseo e alla sua impresa per sconfiggere il Minotauro, il quale secondo la leggenda viveva al centro del suddetto labirinto a Knosso, Creta. È importante ricordare come Teseo sia riuscito ad uscirne solo grazie al filo che Arianna (figlia del re di Creta) gli diede, appositamente per aiutarlo a ritrovare la strada dopo aver sconfitto il mostro. Insieme noi lavoreremo per arrivare al centro del labirinto, sconfiggere il mostro e ritrovare la strada per l’uscita.
